1. Explore the situation of the days of Amos (Northern and Southern).
2. Compare corruption, oppression of the poor (2:6-7) and the need of social changes in the days of Amos with our present days (Amos 7:1-9)
3. What do you mean by Social justice and what is our responsibility as Christians?
4. The theme stated in 5: 24 clearly demands justice and righteousness, what can you do as an individual to bring justice to our nation?
5. How can a Christian live in the world where social injustices prevail?
Second Bible Study:
Based on Chapter 4: 1-12; 9: 11-15
1. What are the things God had done to Israel and yet Israel did not return to God?
2. Whom did Amos call Cows of Bashan? Why did he use this name to them? (4:1; cf. Matt. 3: 4-10; 23: 1-4, 27, 28; Gal. 3: 1-3).
3. How did Amos use the word Prepare to meet your God. If God says to us this very same word what would be our response?
4. God restores Israel again in 9: 11- 15. There is always hope for the faithful remnant of God's people. What does this statement mean? Give examples from (a) your knowledge of the Bible, (b) your knowledge of history, and life in the world today, which illustrate its truth.
5. Compare and contrast Amos 4: 6-9 and 9: 13,14 and discuss to whom both passages mean to be? *
